Week 5: A Year in Provence - Peter Mayle

Charming book about a man's experience when he moves from London to a village in Provence. I selected it as a precursor to my trip to France. Now I cant wait to go and experience the food that the author talks about. Constantly. At least once every three pages. Did I say it was charming? Fascinating also.

  1. Heads up: Provence is *not* northern France. The French they speak is older as well, with a different twang. Mayle's later books are junk. However the first one is amusing and appropriately condescending towards the Med set.
